Sturdy plastic housing and clear plastic film for viewing/using screen on phone that, under normal use will not scratch, crease, tear etc. As with any case, there's bulk added to the phone - although, they've done a great job of minimizing the bulk while maximizing the phones protection. This is weather proof vs. water proof although I have been in pretty wet conditions without incident. In short, it is two plastic halves which have a rubber gasket/seal between them. They close, one over the other, and are coupled at the bottom with a hinge and locked at the top with sliding type locking device (top) which also secures the seal. In addition, there are rubber plugs for both the microphone and telephone jack at the bottom of the case. As you might expect, the clarity of a telephone conversation is hampered by the case and microphone port. Still, you can use it for normal conversations although the quieter the environment, the better. The mount works well. The back of the case has an end that locks to the mount - and is easily engaged/disengaged - locked. You can mount via post or "strap". Both are solid and maintain their positioning. The mount allows for adjusting - left/right, up/down etc. In my opinion, this is a quality product for a very fair price.
